Terms of Service
Effective October 28, 2026
In short: Omamail is free, open-source software that runs on your own computer. You may use it under the MIT License. It is provided as is, you remain responsible for your accounts and the mail you send, and your use of each mail or calendar service stays subject to that service's own terms.
Agreement
These terms apply to your use of Omamail, the email and calendar client published at github.com/huacnlee/omamail and on this website, including the Omarchy plugin and the standalone desktop applications. By installing or using Omamail, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Omamail.
License
Omamail's source code is licensed under the MIT License. These terms do not limit any rights the MIT License grants you. Where these terms and the MIT License differ regarding the source code, the MIT License governs.
Your accounts
- You may only add accounts that you own or are authorized to use.
- You are responsible for keeping your device and its user account secure, since Omamail stores credentials and cached mail on that device.
- Your use of Google, Microsoft, HEY and any other service you connect remains subject to that service's own terms and policies, such as the Google Terms of Service.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Omamail to send spam or unsolicited bulk mail, to send malware or phishing messages, to access accounts or data without authorization, or for any purpose that is unlawful or that violates the terms of the services you connect.
Your content
You keep all rights to your mail, calendar data and other content. Omamail processes it on your device only to provide the features you use, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the messages you send and the changes you make to your mailbox and calendars.
AI assistant
Omamail can work with an AI assistant tool that you install and configure separately. Your use of that tool is governed by its provider's terms. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete: review every reply, draft and proposed action before you approve it. Omamail does not send mail or change your data on the assistant's behalf without your approval.
Third-party services
Omamail is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google, Microsoft, 37signals or any other mail or calendar provider. Those services may change, limit or discontinue access at any time, and some Omamail features may stop working as a result.
Disclaimer of warranties
Omamail is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The developer does not warrant that Omamail will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will not lose, delay or misdeliver mail. Keep your own backups of important data.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall the developer or contributors be liable for any claim, damages or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort or otherwise, arising from, out of or in connection with Omamail or its use, including any loss of data, mail or profits.
Termination
You may stop using Omamail at any time by uninstalling it, removing its local data and revoking its access from your account providers. These terms continue to apply to any use of Omamail you make before then.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use Omamail after a change means you accept the updated terms.
